I live in the stunning rolling countryside of western Herefordshire, just a few miles from the Welsh border.  I've lived all my life here and feel very lucky to do so.  Surrounded by birdsong and the inescapable change of the seasons, when you live here you can't fail to be influenced by the beauty - and sometimes harshness - of the natural world.

I trained in fashion design and manufacture when I left school and have never left behind the practical skills that come with making.  When my children were small I sold a few cards and did a few artistic commissions, and as they got older I took up gardening for local customers which I still do and which keeps me near the nature I love.  But I wanted more; so I began to field bits of unwanted furniture and add my own mark to them, using environmentally responsible paints, and saving perfectly useable but unloved items from landfill (or even in some cases the bonfire).

I still sew, and when I have the time I paint in watercolour and mixed media, with a special love of wildlife subjects.  Everything I create currently comes to life in my kitchen.
